While it might look soft to some, the Lexus GX, which is really a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado wearing a tuxedo, is one tough cookie. That’s why a suspect fleeing Arkansas State Police in one was able to roll a trooper’s cruiser during a PIT maneuver attempt. The footage of that chase is amazing to see since stuff like that doesn’t happen often at all.

The trooper initially started following the Lexus SUV because the driver was speeding and crossing the double yellow line in the road repeatedly. Oftentimes that means someone is intoxicated, although driving distracted is also a possibility. Either way, the trooper wants to pull the luxury vehicle over to confirm his suspicions.
After the trooper actives his cruiser’s lights, the suspect slow rolls down the road like everything’s cool. When that doesn’t work, the driver goes to a crawl. Then he pulls over onto a side street, we guess in hopes the trooper will give up.
This keeps up for what seems like forever but really is just a couple of minutes. The trooper even exclaims to himself in disbelief, but he has no idea what’s coming next.
For good measure, the trooper hits the siren a few times, probably hoping the audio cue will get the suspect driver to just pull over. But it doesn’t, so he flips the siren on all the way.
As the Lexus keeps rolling down the road, the trooper decides to just go for a low-speed PIT. But the big, heavy SUV won’t budge an inch, the cruiser getting manhandled. That’s foreshadowing.
Undeterred, the Arkansas trooper goes in for the kill again as the GX 470 speeds up, but that just leads to minimal contact. The third time is the charm as the suspect slows to go over a speed bump and the trooper comes up on the SUV like a cheetah in heat.
The only problem is that final PIT attempt flips the cruiser onto its side. That Lexus is a tank and takes the hit like a heavyweight boxing champ.
