Arkansas State Police, like some other law enforcement agencies, has decided to man up and get some faster cars to chase down scofflaws who like trying to run from cops. With Charger Scat Packs in the fleet, they can jump into a pursuit and put an end to it, which is what we see in this video where a Chrysler 300 tries to make a run for it.

The video starts out slow, but then the chase is suddenly on as the Chrysler blasts past the trooper parked on the shoulder. Even though it’s a pretty even match between the 300 and the Hemi-powered Dodge police car, the suspect tries pulling out all the stops, including weaving through the heavy semi-truck traffic and passing on the shoulder repeatedly.
Still, the Arkansas State Police trooper keeps up, getting fairly close to the Chrysler 300, although he doesn’t have quite enough power to close the gap and make a PIT. Then out of nowhere, like Superman speeding onto the scene of a crime, another trooper behind the wheel of a Scat Pack patrol car comes flying up in the left lane, catching up to the Chrysler with ease. It’s truly a sight to behold.
Perhaps the suspect realizes he brought a toy to a muscle car fight, or maybe he realizes the Scat Pack trooper is getting into position to do a PIT. Whichever it is, the guy pulls over immediately and surrenders like a bank robber who sees Superman standing on the hood of his getaway car.
Seeing videos like this will make you wonder why every major law enforcement agency in America doesn’t have at least a few Dodge Charger Scat Packs in the fleet. It’s a good question and one we can’t possibly answer. But what we do know is in the hands of police, the muscle cars can bring a quick end to most of these dangerous, ridiculous car chases with obviously inferior vehicles.
