A grand jury has indicted two men accused of stealing eight brand-new Chevrolet Corvettes from General Motors’ assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in a heist valued at more than $1.2 million.
Deantae Cortez Walker, 21, and Amarion Nasir Jordan, 22, were indicted last week on charges including engaging in organized crime, theft by unlawful taking of property valued at $1 million or more by complicity, and first-degree criminal mischief. Authorities said the theft occurred in March, when a group allegedly cut through a fence at the Corvette Assembly Plant and drove off with eight C8 Corvettes, using key fobs left inside the cars.
The investigation began March 22, when the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a man driving a Corvette with its window sticker still attached into an apartment complex parking lot. Bowling Green police later located five of the stolen cars, while the remaining three were recovered after a transport driver alerted authorities about two suspicious men attempting to move the vehicles.
Police reports said Walker admitted after his arrest that he expected to be “paid big” if he had successfully returned to Michigan with one of the cars.

The Corvettes were recovered and returned to GM, which builds all of its iconic sports cars in Bowling Green.
Authorities testified earlier that as many as eight men may have been involved in the theft. The investigation into possible additional suspects remains ongoing.
