Franklin County cops are scrambling to track down a flashy orange-red Chevy Camaro tied to a reckless hit-and-run along I-81 this week. The thing plowed straight into a median sign near Wayne Road before bolting, leaving twisted metal and unanswered questions in its wake.

Witnesses swear they saw the ride, probably a late-model Camaro, sporting fresh front-end damage from the wreck. Cops dropped grainy pics of the suspect vehicle, begging locals to pipe up if they’ve spotted it lurking around town.
So far, authorities have not identified the driver, and it’s unclear whether anyone else was involved or injured in the crash. Investigators have not said if speed or impairment may have been factors in the incident.

The area near Wayne Road and I-81 is a busy stretch of highway in Franklin County, and local officials are reminding drivers to report reckless or erratic driving when they see it. “Even minor collisions can become dangerous when a driver chooses to flee,” one officer said.
