A stolen Lamborghini ripping through city streets for nearly an entire day sounds like the plot of an action movie. In Melbourne, Australia, police say that scenario became very real after a teenager allegedly took a high-performance Lamborghini Urus and spent 15 hours dodging authorities before the high-speed adventure ended in a crash.
The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested after the luxury SUV slammed into a fence late Thursday afternoon. Police say the Lamborghini had been stolen earlier that morning in what quickly turned into a citywide search for one of the most recognizable performance SUVs on the road.
The bizarre pursuit unfolded across multiple suburbs as officers tracked reports of the erratically driven super-SUV.
Stolen Before Sunrise
The situation began around 1:15 a.m. in Maribyrnong, an inner-city suburb of Melbourne. Authorities say several suspects broke into a property and stole the black 2020 Lamborghini Urus.
The SUV is no ordinary vehicle. Powered by a 641-horsepower twin-turbo V8, the Urus blends exotic-car performance with SUV practicality, making it both extremely fast and highly visible. That combination quickly turned the stolen Lamborghini into one of the most talked-about vehicles in the region that day.
As the hours passed, reports began pouring in from residents across nearby suburbs. Witnesses repeatedly spotted the SUV being driven recklessly through local streets.
Photos and sightings even began circulating on the Victorian Stolen Cars Facebook page, where users posted images of the black Lamborghini whenever it appeared around town.
A Dangerous Day on Public Streets
Police say the driver spent much of the day actively trying to evade authorities. Reports indicated the Lamborghini was speeding, running red lights, and weaving through traffic as it moved from suburb to suburb.
At one point, the vehicle was reportedly driven along pedestrian walkways while attempting to escape detection.

Police Air Wing Joins the Hunt
The chase entered a new phase when police located the Lamborghini in Glen Waverley, a suburban area southeast of Melbourne. At that point, Victoria Police deployed its air wing to track the SUV from above.
Using aerial surveillance allowed officers to follow the vehicle without escalating the situation into a high-speed ground pursuit through busy streets.
The Urus eventually drove into a shopping center in Glen Waverley. According to police, the SUV sped through the parking lot before continuing behind the shopping complex.
The chaotic day finally came to an end around 4:35 p.m.
The Crash That Ended the Chase
Authorities say the teenage driver ultimately lost control of the Lamborghini and crashed it into a fence behind the shopping center.
Police moved in immediately after the crash and arrested the 16-year-old at the scene.
Three additional suspects connected to the original theft are still being sought by authorities as the investigation continues.
A High-Profile Owner
The stolen Lamborghini belongs to Ozzie Kheir, founder of the property development company Resimax Group. The SUV carried a personalized license plate reading “RESIMX,” which made the already distinctive vehicle even easier for witnesses to identify.
Images released by police showed the customized plate clearly visible on the vehicle during the search.
