Ford Mustang GT3 Scores Historic Nürburgring Victory in Breakthrough Season

Ford’s newest track beast, the Mustang GT3, just carved its name into racing lore. Right out the gate, this pony car turned predator snatched an outright win at the brutal Nürburgring, shoving its way into the elite GT pack.

Haupt Racing Team pulled it off in a four-hour NES sprint, clawing from 10th to the top with drivers Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler. And here’s the kicker: they almost didn’t start after a gremlin in the mechanics nearly sidelined them the day before.

Multimatic, Ford’s race wizard partners, patched up the machine just in time. Kolb and Stippler diced through traffic and unpredictable asphalt, snagging class and overall glory—a massive flex for Ford’s fresh GT push.

“In the end, it was a flawless team performance that made this victory possible,” said Ulrich Fritz, managing director of HRT. “We are overjoyed about this historic success because it shows that we are on the right track in our development program together with Yokohama.”

The Mustang GT3’s now a globe-trotter, battling in IMSA, GT World Challenge, and the FIA’s endurance circus. Early hiccups? Sure. But lately, it’s been a podium regular, sparking serious interest from squads worldwide.

Ford and HRT aren’t just celebrating a trophy. This is a statement: the Mustang GT3 isn’t here to play nice—it’s here to hunt.
