Lingenfelter to Close Indiana Facility, Consolidate Operations in Michigan

Performance engineering firm shifts focus to state-of-the-art Wixom site

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering announced it will close its original facility in Decatur, Indiana, as part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and focus on its state-of-the-art headquarters in Wixom, Michigan.

The company said the decision came after “careful consideration” and is designed to enhance client services by centralizing operations at its Michigan location.

“We are immensely proud of our team in Decatur and are extending opportunities for them to continue their careers with us in Wixom,” the company said in a statement. “Their expertise and dedication remain a valued part of our future.”

Lingenfelter, a respected name in high-performance automotive engineering, has operated out of Decatur for decades, building a reputation for advanced tuning and custom builds for Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Corvette platforms. The company said the consolidation underscores its long-standing commitment to deliver world-class products alongside exceptional customer service.

“Our commitment has always been to deliver world-class products alongside exceptional service,” the LPE team wrote. “We firmly believe this transition will strengthen our ability to do both.”

The company emphasized it will continue serving clients from its Wixom facility and thanked customers for their support during the transition.

The move reflects a growing trend among performance and specialty automotive firms to consolidate resources into fewer, more advanced facilities, where both engineering and customer-facing services can be more tightly integrated.

Lingenfelter described the change as the start of “the next chapter” for the company, and assured clients that its focus on innovation and high-quality engineering remains unchanged.
