Morrie’s Recon Center, located at 700 Colorado Ave. S., is part of Morrie’s Auto Group, a company with multiple new and used vehicle locations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The facility is used to prepare used cars for sale.

According to Golden Valley PD Chief Virgil Green, surveillance footage showed an older model white SUV entering the property at 1:30 a.m. The SUV was used to force open the garage door. The video then captured suspects leaving in one stolen vehicle and returning with others, making their escape in the stolen cars.

The stolen vehicles included a 2015 Honda CRV, a 2024 Subaru Outback, a 2023 Subaru Forester, a 2014 BMW 3 Series, a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, a 2022 Ford F-150 Limited, and a 2023 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo without a license plate. The Maserati Ghibli Trofeo has a retail value exceeding $100,000.

Chief Green urged the public to help locate the stolen vehicles, emphasizing that the Maserati would be particularly noticeable. He also mentioned that Golden Valley’s numerous high-end car dealerships along I-394 were being informed about the thefts. The police chief asked dealerships to ensure their alarm and camera systems are actively monitored at all times.
