A man wearing his Batman pajamas was able to catch a car burglar in his neighborhood, proving he’s worthy to be called the Dark Knight. It’s also a testament to taking precautions to foil thieves who want to break into your ride.
Car thief sues people who stopped theft.
According to Cape Coral Police Department, our hero had already gone to bed when his home security cameras alerted him to movement outside his house. When he checked, the guy realized someone had broken into his truck and was rifling through the contents.
Going out to investigate, the Batman pajama-wearing guy, named Kyle Myvett, used his master detective skills to wait until the suspect entered his neighbor’s garage. Once he was contained in there with nowhere to run, Myvett was able to detain him, essentially making a citizen’s arrest.
Then he called the police. We just would love to see the look on officers’ faces when they arrived on the scene to Batman holding the suspect for them.
To the surprise of nobody, the suspect is a repeat offender and known to police in the area. In other words, he has a habit of breaking the law. While the guy didn’t seem to be trying to steal cars – he had expensive items he took from the interiors – we’ve seen these situations turn into just that if a key fob has been left inside.
Myvett wouldn’t have known anything happened had it not been for his security cameras alerting him, which is why we tell people those are an excellent investment.
We don’t know how the suspect got into the vehicles, but this is a great reminder that even if you park in a garage at night, you should lock your doors. That arms the security system and prevents burglars from just opening it up, because a lot of them just try door handles.
The burglary suspect in this case has been hit with two felony charges, and it’s all thanks to Batman.
