Spread the word and keep an eye out for this classic Chevy!
Car thieves are horrible people, full stop. They steal what’s near and dear to enthusiasts and have no qualms about it. That’s why we want to spread the word about someone or a group of someones who stole a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split window during The Armor Great Pumpkin Classic Car Show held in Howell, Michigan on Saturday, October 1.
Learn why you should lock your car, even when you’ve parked in the middle of a forest, here.
Scout Sparks sounded the alarm on Facebook and her post is spreading fast. She says her dad’s beloved ’63 Corvette was parked in the spectator parking lot for the show, which was held at Livingston County Airport, sometime between 12:30 and 1:00 pm. In other words, the thief or thieves worked fast, scooping the classic sports car as it sat unattended for a mere half hour.
Take a good look at the photos of the car. It appears to be Sebring Silver and even though we don’t have a clear shot of the interior, we believe it’s black. Considering under 11,000 split-window coupes were made for the 1963 Chevy Corvette, these aren’t horribly common. That’s also why they’re so valuable and is probably why the person or people who stole this acted quickly.
With so many people in attendance at the event, someone had to have seen something, even if they thought at the time it was something innocent. If you were there or know someone who was, make sure to show these photos to them and look through any pictures/video taken at the event.
It’s doubtful the thieves loaded this car onto a wrecker and drove off since that would’ve been super obvious. Instead, they likely jimmied the lock and hotwired the ignition. If anyone saw something like that, it would be memorable.
Again, share this article and the photos and help find this Corvette!
