When Welcome to the Jungle starts playing while we’re driving, things can get a little interesting. One man in New Jersey apparently used the old rock anthem as inspiration or maybe to pump himself up before driving his car through the exterior wall of a police station. Prosecutors say the incident was no accident.
Find out why a YouTuber’s car collection has been seized and is currently being auctioned here.
According to a press release put out by Independence Township Police, John Hargreaves first crashed into a private residence, then the police station on September 20. He sounds like a super stable person.
Targeting someone he allegedly knows, Hargreaves used his SUV like a battering ram to hit the garage door of a house at around 6:17 pm. Authorities say this was done to frighten the unnamed victim. Doing that, even to someone you really don’t like, is just messed up.
Maybe Hargreaves figured since he had already crossed the line it was time to go out big, because after that he cranked Guns N’ Roses, then crashed through the wall of the nearest police station. After his SUV came to rest inside the building, he allegedly got out and celebrated the move. You can see in the included video he was doing the “arms raised in a V for victory” thing. At least he didn’t try flossing or something really lame.
In case you were wondering if the punishment might be severe for crashing through someone’s garage door, then ramming into a police station, Hargreaves is facing six separate charges that include burglary, harassment, and terrorism. He could be spending a long, long time in prison if these charges stick in court.
Just remember, when Welcome to the Jungle starts playing, keep everything under control. It’s okay to do some air guitar as long as you’re not the one driving. And don’t ram into people’s garage doors.
