Woman In Georgia Steals Multiple Cars During Police Chase

Estimated read time 2 min read

We’re seeing a slight uptick in stories about people on the run from police doing multiple carjackings as their current ride gets trashed. Hopefully it’s not a real trend but this one out of Georgia is the most outrageous of the bunch we’ve spotted recently. Ultimately, this woman stole three cars and trashed a whole lot more in her quest to get away from the law.

Would-be carjacker gets bear sprayed instead.

The report from WSB doesn’t indicate why police originally were looking for 22-year-old Destiny Mytess Daniel on the morning of January 5. When deputies in Pike County spotted her she refused to pull over, speeding away recklessly, leading deputies to call off the chase.

Daniel fled into Butts County where she crashed, ditched her vehicle, then stole a guy’s truck with a trailer full of landscaping equipment. Deputies in that county gave chase as the trailer hit a Camaro, some of the landscaping equipment flying through the air and hitting a Hyundai. Then the trailer hit a Chevy Suburban before the truck crashed into a ditch.

One would think at this point Daniel would’ve been caught, but she was still going. After she got out of that stolen truck she laid facedown on the ground, but instead of immediately cuffing her, a deputy checked the truck to see if anyone else was inside. That gave her a chance to slip off, get into the deputy’s car, and take off again.

By this point we’re pretty sure Daniel got real life and the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise mixed up. Thankfully, another deputy was able to PIT the stolen cruiser. But she still wasn’t finished, with Georgia State Police saying she got out and tried to carjack another car before she was finally arrested.

We can imagine at this point Daniel is facing a long list of charges and will probably be ordered to pay quite a bit of restitution to her many victims. This is precisely why we keep our doors lock and don’t leave the keys in the ignition while gassing up because carjackings in general, including these mass carjacking scenarios, are just too common these days.
