According to reports, in Hollister, North Carolina, a red Ford Mustang became the centerpiece of a high-speed chase that concluded with the arrest of 65-year-old Ronnie Anthony Mills. The pursuit, which reached speeds of around 120 miles per hour, was initiated after Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies observed Mills driving in a manner described as careless and reckless. Despite attempts to pull him over, Mills escalated the situation by fleeing, leading authorities on a chase that ultimately ended at a residence where he was arrested.
These drivers crash more than any other.
Mills now faces a slew of charges, including speeding, driving while his license was revoked, felony flee to elude, possession of an open container of alcohol, and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer. Following his apprehension, Mills was detained at the Halifax County Jail with a bond set at $10,000. In a striking demonstration of North Carolina’s “Run and Done Law,” the 2015 Ford Mustang driven by Mills was seized.
This incident calls back to a similar episode from 2006 involving a prearranged drag race in Halifax County that led to multiple arrests and the seizure of vehicles, including a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Although it remains unconfirmed whether Mills was involved in the earlier incident, the parallels between the two cases, including the same name as the alleged street racer, are undeniable.
