Armed carjackings are scary situations where things can go from bad to worse in a split second. That’s exactly what happened to two women in Spanaway, Washington recently with one shot by the carjacker and the other shooting the carjacker in return.
Louisiana man tries carjacking Audi during a test drive.
The situation sounds chaotic. Reportedly, the driver was pistol whipped and pushed out of the car. Then the carjacker shot the girlfriend who was sitting in the backseat. Thankfully, she was able to get out of the vehicle and run to a nearby house and ask for help.
In the meantime, the first woman pulled out her own gun and returned fire. She reportedly hit the car but it’s unknown if the carjacker was struck by any of the bullets. Unfortunately, the suspect drove off and essentially disappeared.
The good news is first responders saved the shot woman’s life.
What preceded the carjacking was a pot deal. That’s interesting because we thought recreational marijuana use was legal in Washington, yet people are still doing illegal deals, which we were reassured would go away.
Anyway, the transaction went sideways when the alleged drug dealer carjacked the woman instead of giving them the devil’s lettuce. We know, we know, who would’ve guessed a drug dealer would do something so scummy?
While doing something like a drug deal is going to increase your chances of being carjacked at gunpoint, such things happen to people who are just going to the grocery store, pulling up to their house, or doing other mundane tasks. Sadly, criminals are often just looking for easy victims and a quick score.
There are things you can do to help prevent carjackings, like keeping your doors locked whenever you’re inside your vehicle, being aware of your surroundings, and not rolling your window down for people you don’t completely trust.
