A man who got into an argument over something civil decided to use a skid steer to mangle and flip over several cars. It was a bizarre decision which caused things to spiral more out of control, and now police are investigating exactly what happened.
Dashcam footage shows a Grappler Bumper pull the rear axle off a fleeing car.
According to a report from WBKO, the situation unraveled at Treasure Trove Park, an animal sanctuary in Cave City, Kentucky. A co-owner of the park got into an argument and rather than resolving the situation with words, he decided to use heavy machinery.
One of the witnesses recorded at least part of the attack, which involved the guy flipping over at least three vehicles using the skid skeet. One truck had gouges on the side from the forks contacting it repeatedly.
Then the suspect drove the skid steer at a private residence that’s located in the park. The person who lives there, who apparently knows the suspect, fired shots, although all of them went wide of the machine.
Thankfully, nobody was injured in the exchange.
Not only were vehicles damaged, so was some of the fencing for an animal enclosure. In total, the CEO the park says about $750,000 in damages were done by the co-owner. That’s a lot of money for a temper tantrum.
Obviously, you can’t just turn to heavy machinery every time things don’t go your way. In this case, the guy who did all this was booked into jail and hit with eight counts of wanton endearment and three counts of criminal mischief.
We wouldn’t be surprised if more charges come later.
This isn’t the first time we’ve covered someone taking a piece of heavy machinery to do some destruction. If you own some, you might want to take precautions so not just anyone can climb inside and use it for whatever they want.
