Vehicle Taken Before Deputies Arrived

According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Wednesday to a dealership on Bobo Newsom Highway after receiving a report of a suspicious person on the property. Upon arrival, they discovered a red 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack had already been stolen. Surveillance footage later showed the Challenger being driven off the lot before deputies arrived.

Vehicle Details

The Challenger Scat Pack is part of Dodge’s high-performance lineup, featuring a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine and distinctive styling. Investigators noted that the vehicle’s bright red color could make it easier for the public to identify.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have not specified whether the suspect broke into the dealership or accessed the vehicle through other means. Deputies continue to review surveillance footage and follow up on leads. Anyone with information about the theft or the vehicle’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 843-398-4501.

Part of a Broader Trend

The theft adds to a growing number of high-value vehicle thefts in the region, with muscle cars and other high-performance models frequently targeted due to strong resale value and parts demand. Law enforcement officials are urging dealership owners and vehicle owners to remain vigilant, secure their vehicles, and report suspicious activity promptly.
