This makes us sick to see.
Of all the beautiful cars to have emerged from the UK, the McLaren P1 is perhaps one of the greatest, especially in this century. That’s why seeing one sitting in floodwaters in Florida as Hurricane Ian rages is just absolutely heartbreaking.
Check out grandma’s secret supercar stash here.
This photo was posted to Facebook by Jeff Chin Photography just a short while ago, saying it belongs to a guy named Ernie who goes by lambo9286 on Instagram. If you visit his profile, you’ll see this same supercar in fantastic shape before it became a submarine.
According to another commenter on Facebook, this car was purchased just two weeks ago and has only 300 miles on the odometer. That claim is backed up by a post from a week ago on Ernie’s Instagram account. Understandably, the guy seems very excited about the acquisition, but now it’s turned into an insurance claim from hell.
We don’t have details, but it appears this supercar was left parked in the street while the hurricane ravaged the area. Why it wasn’t stowed away in a garage or some other secure building is a mystery. After all, if you can afford a McLaren P1 at the current market values, especially one with so few miles, surely you can arrange for it to be indoors during the storm. The only clue we have is a post from Ernie two hours ago that says “car went thru the garage.”
In earlier posts on Instagram, Ernie shows the McLaren P1 parked next to a Rolls-Royce in a garage. How it ended up in the street to swim with the sharks is a mystery. Did the garage get obliterated? Was the garage door ripped open by sharks? We have so many questions and no answers.
