Distracted driving ranks among the most frustrating and dangerous behaviors on the road, from drivers drifting in their lanes to ignoring their surroundings. Encouragingly, a new report indicates distracted driving rates actually fell in 2023.
Any reduction in distraction is welcome news for road safety. Still, the persistent dangers of phones and other distractions mean there’s plenty of room for improvement, even as the trend appears to be moving in the right direction.
