Yet another violent street takeover in Los Angeles resulted in a business being broken into. This time it was a car dealership which suffered the wrath of the unruly crowd as attendees busted through the showroom windows, doing some damage to the business.
Man brutally attacked at Oakland street takeover.
Also featured at the takeover was yet another vehicle torched. Local news station ABC7 said authorities hadn’t confirmed whether the car fire was intentionally set or was accidental, but anyone who’s been following these illegal events knows they often involve stolen rides being burned, adding to the chaos and danger.
On the same night, another street takeover in Los Angeles involved yet another car torched. It was in the middle of an intersection where attendees were doing donuts, drifting, and otherwise acting like lawless fools.
What’s even better, no arrests were reportedly made after either illegal takeover event. This is common and shows those who organized and go to these that authorities either are powerless to stop them or don’t care.
The fact is so many times these takeovers turn into more than just thrashing cars, pedestrians being run into, and shootings. They damage city infrastructure, often lead to local businesses being vandalized and/or burglarized, and generate other illegal activities like human trafficking.
All of the above should be plenty of reasons for any municipality, county, and state to do all it can to shut these street takeover events down permanently. However, in some areas like Los Angeles they’re almost coddled and tolerated instead of eradicated.
We expect many more violent street takeovers with businesses damaged and/or looted in Los Angeles as well as the Bay Area of California before the close of this year.
