The Dodge Durango Hellcat is coming back for yet another model year, 2026, defying predictions of its demise. This means little Timmy will definitely be getting to his baseball practice on time and in style. For now, it remains the only Hellcat-powered vehicle on the market.
Thieves are using a tool to steal Toyotas in record numbers.
Dodge has apparently confirmed the Durango Hellcat is returning for the 2026 model year lineup after many thought 2025 would be the final bow, reports Mopar Insiders. But Dodge also unexpectedly brought the SUV model back after most understood it was done, so this really shouldn’t be all that surprising.
Still, it’s exciting to see all hope isn’t lost in the world. After all, so many trucks and SUVs have been getting turbocharged six-cylinder engines, and in some cases four-bangers, in a move that’s downright dumb and disheartening.
We don’t know exactly what the 2026 Dodge Durango Hellcat will look like as far as pricing, trims, etc. What we suspect is with the Hellcat engine set to return in force to the Dodge and Ram brands, the high-powered version of the Durango was able to get an extension on its shelf life.
Many thought for sure 2025 was the absolute last model year for the Durango Hellcat and we can hardly blame them. After all, there were different “Last Call” models issued, something Dodge does when a model line is going end of life.
When those were created, the Hellcat-powered, three-row SUV was probably doomed. But things have changed in a hurry as the old Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares was unceremoniously booted. He reportedly was the one standing in the way of Hemi V8s being used in virtually every product for Dodge, Ram, and Jeep.
Now we wonder if a Trackhawk will also be on the menu before long.
