It seems like we can’t go too long in 2025 without a big Ford safety recall, with the latest one for 1.5 million vehicles’ rearview cameras. And if this one sounds a little bit like déjà vu, that’s because it’s eerily similar to another one.
Watch cops use the Grappler Bumper creatively.
Just like a recall that was issued back in February, only for a different batch of vehicles, this one involves the rearview cameras displaying distorted, inverted, or even blank videos. That’s why a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall has been issued.
Obviously, not being able to see behind your vehicle, or thinking an obstacle is on the right when it’s on the left, or that an obstacle looks to be farther away than it actually is constitutes a serious safety risk.
For this recall, the 1.5 million vehicles affected are from the 2015 to 2019 model years. The model lines are the Ford Mustang, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Expedition, Edge, Transit, Transit Connect, Econoline, and Ranger.
Lincoln models recalled, also from 2015 to 2019, are the MKC and Navigator.
Of course, anyone who owns one of the recalled vehicles can take it to a Ford or Lincoln dealership and have the recall work done for free.
As a Ford owner, you might be getting sick of all the recalls this year. Maybe you’ve had to take your vehicle to the dealership more than once so far. That’s all thanks to the Blue Oval not only surpassing the previous record of 77 safety recalls in a year, but now absolutely shredding that number.
Right now, Ford has pushed past 100 recalls for 2025 and with four months left in the year could conceivably double that previous record.
