Dodge Charger Plays Chicken With Police

Estimated read time 2 min read

We’ve see a lot of police chases where criminals do weird, stupid things but this one might take the cake. Not only is the pursuit short-lived, the actions of the Dodge Charger driver are just plain bizarre. Regardless, at the end of it two suspects were taken into custody along with plenty of evidence they were involved in multiple crimes, including stealing cars.

Watch a suspect pull out an AK and open fire during a police chase.

An Arkansas trooper first spotted the black Mopar traveling down Interstate 40 at 20 mph over the posted speed limit. The guy probably thought he was being smart and tricky by immediately taking the next exit. Look, we knew about that “trick” long ago and have the cops, so you’re fooling nobody by turning off a road right away.

The suspects continue slowly in the dashcam footage like they’re completely innocent. But when the trooper turns on his lights and sirens, the driver suddenly decides that’s the time to pull a multi-point turnaround real slow-like, then go nose-to-nose with the cruiser.

In case you’re one of the few people who doesn’t know this, most police cars come equipped with a push bar up front. If you try using your vehicle that’s not equipped with such protection to ram the nose of the cop car, well it’s not going to turn out well for you. And that’s exactly what happens here.

After the short contest of wills and plastic versus steel, the suspects’ car ends up in a ditch on the side of the road. With the suspects in cuffs, troopers search the Mopar muscle car and to nobody’s surprise find a bunch of key fobs for several different car brands, a device for reprogramming vehicle ignitions, narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen gun. So much for the story that guys are swiping our cars to buy bread for their starving family.

Check out the embarrassing getaway attempt for yourself.
