Cop Hits Suspect Car So Hard The Side Airbags Deploy

One thing’s for sure, you don’t want to mess with Arkansas State Police. If you run from them and they catch up to you, troopers will not take it easy. That fact is on display once more in this chase footage involving a Hyundai another law enforcement agency asked for helping tracking down.

Watch a Hellcat outrun a police helicopter.

Once the trooper locks onto the vehicle, which is stopped at a light, the driver decides to see if his little gerbil-powered ride can outrun the Dodge Charger. The answer in short is no, it cannot. Plus, the trooper knows how to drive better.

Even though the suspect tries weaving this way and that, charging through intersections, etc. the trooper is still able to keep up with relative ease. Eventually, the fleeing vehicle pulls over and a passenger jumps out, probably not wanting to get arrested.

The trooper chases the Hyundai down a residential street which ends in a cul-de-sac. At that point the suspect should realize he’s done and just surrender peacefully. Instead, he tries whipping the Hyundai around, we guess to play chicken with the trooper.

That’s when the Arkansas trooper just rams the side of the car, setting off the curtain airbags and bringing the chase to a violent yet effective close. They don’t play around in Arkansas.

The best part of this chase is in the aftermath a guy who was standing in his driveway just casually watched the trooper hold the suspects at gunpoint. He even moseys over across his lawn for a better look once the suspects are cuffed, reminding us of those memes showing people vacuuming their sidewalk to watch the police respond to their neighbor’s house.
