It’s always interesting to see when criminals are doggedly determined to run from police no matter how hopeless the situation. On the one hand, it’s great to see people apply themselves, but we wish they were doing it for something legitimate. Imagine what these suspects could do if they showed such determination in legal activities like an actual career.
Watch a determined Honda Civic driver keep fleeing from police.
This guy who won’t stop his truck for North Little Rock Police no matter what is just such a criminal. Even after an officer spikes his tires the guy just keeps on running. Why let a little something like tire deflation slow you down?
The officer taking lead in the chase also drives over the Stop Stick thrown by one of his colleagues. They’re supposed to call out on the radio that a spike attempt is about to be made, allowing the lead pursuit vehicle to fall back and avoid that exact situation.
That officer obviously isn’t as determined, because with deflated tires he drops out of the chase. You can hear he’s upset in the dashcam footage, but help is on the way.
In the meantime, the same thing happens again to the next lead officer. Looks like North Little Rock Police Department needs some extra training.
When Arkansas State Police show up, the situation takes a dramatic turn. Two troopers in Dodge Chargers cut in and take the lead as the fleeing truck is riding on bare rims for both passenger-side wheels. In short order they PIT the truck and bring the chase to a close.
All that metal on pavement friction gets things cooking at the front end of the truck, with smoke billowing out even before the pursuit finishes. That turns into a fire troopers extinguish, just like the dogged determination of our suspect.
