Carjackers Shoot Ferrari At California Mall

Estimated read time 2 min read

Carjackings are a huge concern and not just for the reason that they can result in someone’s car being stolen. While there are strongarm carjackings which can turn fatal, many carjackers use a gun or other weapon to coerce their victims. That then presents the chance someone could be killed in the process, like what almost happened when three men tried taking a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Ferrari 488.

An 80-year-old woman was killed in a Seattle carjacking recently.

It went down at Fashion Island mall in Newport Beach, California. Two men who were in the parking lot with their luxury vehicles were targeted by the three would-be carjackers at 11:30 pm. What they were doing that late at night in a mall parking lot isn’t clear, but the criminals who targeted them obviously thought they were good pickings.

The victim in the Ferrari took off as one of the carjackers shot out his rear window. Thankfully he wasn’t hit by any rounds, but flying glass did give him some minor cuts. He was able to escape to a nearby gas station and call 911.

As for the other guy with the Rolls-Royce, he had his Rolex watch and wallet taken after a physical struggle. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt but obviously was shook by the incident.

It wasn’t too long ago when a woman was killed at the same mall during a robbery attempt. These two guys couldn’t easily been murdered as well, especially the Ferrari owner.

This is what happens when stealing cars, whether from driveways in the middle of the night or at gunpoint in mall parking lots, becomes accepted as just the way things are. Thieves will just keep pushing and take more than what society allows, so treating them with indulgence is like pouring fuel on a fire.

The next victims of these carjackers might not be so lucky.
