A ten-year-old child was caught on surveillance camera driving a stolen Hyundai through a park, blasting past a playground full of other little kids, shocking many. While we think it’s sad, we’re actually not all that surprised considering what’s been going on the past several years.

We live in a time where young kids have become hardened criminals, a sad reality some don’t want to face. It’s tough to wrap your head around this stuff, but that doesn’t help with addressing the root causes behind the phenomenon or solving it in the future.
As we’ve covered repeatedly, organized criminal organizations are actively recruiting young kids to steal cars. We’ve seen cases of eight-year-olds caught in the act by police. It’s truly sad.
The incident in question happened in Minneapolis, Minnesota back on September 20. However, the tiny car thief was only booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center last Thursday.
Local news station KARE 11 seems shocked to find out police say they’ve had 30 contacts with the 10-year-old, who already has quite the criminal record. We see cases like this all the time and many of them are coming out of the same areas. Why exactly that is needs to be examined and the root causes addressed.
But we know solutions get bogged down because of agendas as people quibble over political philosophies, beaurocrats fight for funding for their pet projects, and so on. In the meantime, criminal organizations based here and even international ones prey on our youth, luring them into becoming car thieves with false promises of untold fortunes, or just by simply telling them how fun breaking the law can be.
Something needs to change.
