Video footage of a BMW M4 CSL wrecking out while in a street race against a Dodge Charger is spreading like crazy. It’s easy to see why, considering only 1,000 units of that Bimmer was made. And when you see how it crashed, it’s obvious the driver is a rookie who had no business pushing the envelope, especially on a public road.

See how cops in Arizona pulled out all the stops to hunt down some street racers.

The cameraman is standing on the side of the road as these two fools street race each other. At first, the two cars are side-by-side, but the Charger starts gapping the BMW. Not too long after, the Dodge driver hits the brakes and puts on his emergency flashers, we guess signaling the end of the race.

Thankfully, the Mopar is at least a couple of car lengths ahead at that point, because the M4 CSL driver does something very stupid. The car pulls to the right hard, we’re assuming from torque steer. That’s when we see the Bimmer’s brake lights come on.

The advice “never lift” very much applies in this situation. What the driver doesn’t realize is slamming on the brakes in a rear-wheel-drive car with the engine in the front will cause quite the weight transference.

And that’s probably why the vehicle suddenly spins a half turn, then shoots left off the side of the road, hopping a curb and hitting something with its nose. We don’t get to see what the Bimmer hit or how bad the damage is, but the collision sounds pretty sickening.

We also can’t tell for sure what model the Charger is, but from the audio in the video (which isn’t horrible or great) it sounds like it’s a Hemi V8. Perhaps it was a Redeye or modified Hellcat, so the CSL driver was already intimidated, panicked, and that’s when things took a turn for the worse (pun fully intended).

If nothing else, this video is a great example of why street racing is stupid. But we don’t think the street racer crowd will see it that way, since they all think they’re super great drivers. Obviously, that’s not the case, what with plenty more videos like this one out there as evidence.
