This Is Why You Don’t Run From Police In A Chevy Trax

There are some dumb cars to use in a police chase, but even among them the Chevy Trax is a particularly horrible option. After all, there’s a reason you’ll find many of these crossovers in rental fleets as one of the budget vehicles, they’re just that horrible. But some guy in Arkansas stole one, then led police on a pursuit.

Funny enough, sheriff’s deputies didn’t just take the guy down immediately. Maybe it’s because of pursuit policies or because everyone in the state relies on state troopers to end these types of situations, we don’t know. But ultimately it was Arkansas State Police which played clean up duty and did so rather well.

In case you’ve never driven a Chevy Trax, and we’re guessing that means you don’t use rental cars while traveling much, the little crossover is truly a gutless wonder. They’re perfect for individuals who think their foot always has to be planted down on the accelerator because doing that just means you’ll be going as fast as the rest of traffic.

That means this suspect in the stolen Trax can’t shake his pursuers, no matter how much he flogs the gerbil powering it. Being so slow and weak is just one reason why we wouldn’t steal this Chevy, because if the police do try chasing you, there’s no getting away.

The other reason is you won’t get much for one of these things, even in the black market. The interiors are about as awful as that engine. Anyone getting offended at this right now must own a Trax, a decision obviously regretted and we understand why.

For the trooper, the biggest challenge in pitting this Trax is finding a spot where it won’t spin out into other cars. Once he does execute the PIT, the crossover spins onto the shoulder and immediately rolls – another reason to avoid these things. Yet another dumb criminal is taken out thanks to his choosing one of the worst getaway cars known to man.
