Footage of a Mustang, Camaro, and other cars struggling to drive on a road barely covered in snow is proving one thing: Texans absolutely can’t handle the white stuff. We guess the one way you can mess with the Lone Star State is to make them drive in actual winter conditions, not even bad winter conditions, because they will melt down.
See some crazy winter storm crashes.
The opening shot on some footage shared to X of a snowy street in Denton, Texas shows a red S550 Mustang struggling to move forward. The owner threaded a ratchet strap through at least one of the rear wheels and around the tire, presumably to get traction in the slick stuff. We’ve seen that trick before and it’s a true act of desperation.
Heavy snowfall in Denton, Texas, has made travel hazardous. The snow has caused vehicles to slip and slide, which has led to accidents and stranded motorists. Nearly 2 inches of snow has fallen and multiple businesses are closed for a snow day.@MyRadarWX #txwx #wxtwitter… pic.twitter.com/XvT2FJB37u

Still, the Mustang keeps slipping, its back window covered in snow.
A fifth-gen Camaro appears in the next shot, just sitting near the snowy median. That driver probably tried to get the rear-wheel-drive muscle car going and finally gave up.
Then there’s a Miata driver who just full sends the little roadster in the slushy snow. It’s fishtailing all the way up a hill, but the little thing makes it, barely. Perhaps the driver realized any more accumulation and his ride would high-center?
Finally, we have people who have obviously spun out, some hitting barriers on the side of the road. Having seen how people even in areas where it does snow regularly behave in winter storms, we can almost guarantee these people thought they could just speed down the road with no consequence.
What’s far more surprising is in the first shot a Ford F-150 sits in the snowy median, its flashers on. The truck isn’t moving at all. Is it stranded? Considering it’s in Texas, the pickup might be rear-wheel-drive only, making it difficult to control in the snow.
Let’s face it: Texans can’t drive in the snow. We’re sure more videos of people in the South trying to manage the current snowstorms are going to surface and we’ll see they’re not handling it any better. Our advice is to just stay home until everything clears up.
