There’s no doubt the Dodge Durango Hellcat is a hot SUV, so we would imagine this crashed one that’s up for sale is of interest. After all, whether someone wants to rebuild it or just harvest valuable parts like the powertrain, it should have a lot of value.
This Dodge Durango was impaled by a sport bike.
However, the Dodge is pretty rough. It has front end damage, but it doesn’t look like the engine has been damaged, but there’s only one picture, so that’s no guarantee. But that front end damage looks bad, with the bumper, hood, and fenders all damaged. It also looks like at least the passenger axle is broken and possibly more.
There’s also damage down the driver’s side, including both doors. Around back, the driver’s rear wheel is torn off, the fender is damaged, and the bumper over is hanging off.
Plus, the airbags deployed in the crash, so getting this thing back on the road will be expensive, just with the known damage. If the frame or powertrain also sustained damaged, the cost and complexity of fixing this muscle-bound SUV will skyrocket.
But these things are red hot, so even in its damaged state, this Durango Hellcat has some serious value. According to IAAI, which is preparing to auction off the Dodge online, it has just 8,482 miles on the odometer. The interior looks perfect, save for the deployed airbags and some broken glass.
Even if you were to just part out this SUV, it would fetch a fair amount of money. But would someone try restoring it, even though the title will obviously be blemished? Or is it just not worth the money and effort to fix everything?
Keep in mind, these are somewhat rare vehicles with a starting price over $80,000. How much would you bid on this one?
