Last New Sixth-Generation Camaro Still Available at a Dealership After Production Ended

At least one brand-new sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro remains unsold at a dealership, representing one of the final opportunities to purchase a never-titled example of a nameplate that General Motors has discontinued after more than five decades of continuous production in various forms.

GM announced the end of Camaro production in the sixth-generation body style, with the last units rolling off the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in early 2024. The decision prompted significant outcry from enthusiasts, though the automaker cited shifting consumer preferences and the need to allocate production capacity toward electric vehicles.

The existence of unsold new-car inventory this far into the post-production period reflects a quirk of how dealer allocation and market conditions interact. Some dealers ordered units that proved difficult to move at the prices they were asking, particularly after the initial wave of collector-driven demand subsided and the market normalized around what buyers were willing to pay for a car that was no longer being made.

For buyers interested in the last new Camaro, the appeal is straightforward: zero miles, full factory warranty, and the ability to own an unregistered example of the final generation of one of America’s most iconic performance cars. Whether that translates to investment value over time depends on factors that are difficult to predict with certainty.

Historically, last-year or final-edition examples of discontinued nameplates have appreciated in value, particularly when the model has a significant enthusiast following and limited production numbers. The sixth-gen Camaro sold in substantial quantities, however, which limits scarcity compared to a true limited-production special edition.

The dealer holding the final new inventory has reportedly been fielding inquiries from collectors and enthusiasts who want to secure their place as the owner of a genuinely new, never-driven sixth-generation Camaro while that opportunity still exists.
