A man driving his Camaro in Fairview Heights, Illinois intentionally crashed into a cop car out of his hatred of police in general. It’s one of the latest examples of people who have been worked into such a frenzy, they’re ready to hurt law enforcement or worse.
Ohio State Highway Patrol has a new Dodge Hellcat.
The incident happened when an officer from Fairview Heights Police pulled over another vehicle for an expired tag. Parked on the side of Old Collinsville Road, the marked police cruiser had its emergency lights activated.
As the officer was walking toward the car he had pulled over, the 2018 Chevy Camaro slammed into his cruiser from behind, causing it to hit another car. As local news station Fox 2 Now says, the force of the collision led to “impaling them (the vehicles) together.
Only a picture of the mashed muscle car was included with the story, so we don’t know what other vehicle the police cruiser hit, nor how they were impaled together.
After the violent collision, the driver of the Camaro went up to the cop and allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol as well as eating some “weed gummies” before he got in the muscle car.
We guess thanks to his inhibitions being lifted, the guy then admitted he purposely steered right into the cruiser because “he did not like police officers.”
Imagine if everyone crashed their cars into things or people they don’t like. That would really be something.
Of course, the Camaro driver was arrested and reportedly was going to be charged with multiple felonies. We can’t imagine he’s going to have much of a defense in court, especially if there’s bodycam footage of his roadside confession.
This trend of people attacking cops because they’ve been told how fundamentally evil the institution of law enforcement is needs to end. While not all cops are good and not all good cops always do everything right, without police we would have chaos in society.
