A crash between a teenager’s BMW and an Amazon delivery semi-truck shut down part of Interstate 75 near Tampa earlier this week, though everyone involved escaped without injury. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the crash occurred near the Bruce B. Downs exit in Pasco County.
How the Crash Happened
According to witnesses, the 18-year-old driver from Wesley Chapel lost control of his sedan while traveling south in the fast lane. The car swerved before sliding underneath the trailer of the semi-truck, causing the truck to jackknife across the median.
No Injuries Despite Severe Damage
First responders found the BMW wedged beneath the trailer with significant damage. Despite the severity of the crash, the driver and his two 18-year-old passengers were uninjured, as was the truck driver, a man in his late 40s from St. Cloud.
