A wild wreck between a teens BMW and an Amazon semi brought Interstate 75 to a standstill earlier this week, yet somehow everyone walked away unscathed. Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the bizarre incident went down near the Bruce B. Downs exit in Pasco County last Saturday.
Nearly 50 Birds Killed After Truck Driver Runs Them Over in Florida, Officials Say
Witnesses say the 18-year-old Wesley Chapel driver lost his grip on the sedan while barreling south in the fast lane. Things went sideways fast—literally. The car swerved like a maniac before slamming under the rig’s trailer, sending the freight hauler into a gnarly jackknife skid across the median.
First responders found the crumpled Beemer wedged like a crushed soda can beneath the massive trailer. Miraculously, not a scratch on the driver or his two passengers, both also 18. Even the trucker, a St. Cloud man in his late 40s, escaped unharmed.
Troopers pinned reckless driving as the main culprit but haven’t dropped the hammer with tickets yet. Cleanup crews scrambled to pry the wreckage apart, snarling traffic for hours. Officials stress the importance of maintaining control of your vehicle and not doing anything reckless, especially during rush hour on I-75.
