In a high-speed escapade through Polk County, Florida, Timothy Allen Hogue, marked by his distinctive “all gas, no brakes” neck tattoo, found himself in a dramatic crash following a spree of car burglaries. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday in the Preservation Pointe neighborhood, triggering an intense police response.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene at around 3:28 a.m. after reports surfaced of a duo attempting to break into several vehicles. The suspects, later identified as 37-year-old Hogue from Apopka and 31-year-old Rebecca Kozub of Ocoee, were reportedly seen in a white 2006 Cadillac CTS.
As law enforcement attempted to intercept the Cadillac, Hogue, the driver, recklessly accelerated into the neighborhood, desperately seeking an escape route. According to Brian Bruchey, a spokesperson for PCSO, “They were like a trapped mouse running around trying to get out of there.” In their frantic effort to evade capture, the suspects raced past a deputy, turned around, and sped back down the same street.
The pursuit reached its climax when the Cadillac, in its high-speed frenzy, collided with a parked and unoccupied vehicle. “If they were to lose control they could slam into a house and people could get hurt. Well, somebody did get hurt. It was the burglars,” Bruchey explained.
Both Hogue and Kozub were immediately extracted from the wrecked Cadillac and received medical attention. Hogue, upon being interviewed after his release from the hospital, confessed to the burglaries and attributed the criminal plan to Kozub.
Sheriff Grady Judd of Polk County expressed his concerns, highlighting the perilous nature of the chase. “Fleeing from a law enforcement traffic stop demonstrates very poor decision making, but to do it in a small, residential neighborhood at a high rate of speed is a terrible idea, and dangerous. It’s amazing and fortunate that nobody innocent was hurt or killed.”
Hogue, whose criminal record boasts 31 felonies and 18 misdemeanors, now faces a slew of charges including burglary, fleeing to elude, and drug possession. His bond has been set at $11,500. Meanwhile, Kozub, with 19 prior felonies and 20 misdemeanors, remains hospitalized with a broken leg, with charges pending against her.
