Police Search for Man Who Rammed Wife’s Rideshare Car Four Times Toward an Embankment

A Predawn Attack on a Busy Commute

Police in Vancouver, Washington, are searching for a man accused of repeatedly ramming a rideshare car carrying his wife in a violent attack captured on dashcam footage. The incident happened just before dawn on Nov. 15, when a woman driving for a rideshare service became the target of what authorities describe as a deliberate, sustained collision.

Four Separate Impacts Toward a Steep Drop

According to Vancouver Police, the suspect struck the rideshare vehicle four separate times, hitting it hard enough to shatter the rear windshield and push the car toward a steep embankment roughly 20 feet below. The impacts left the driver injured and struggling to maintain control as the vehicle was forced dangerously close to the drop-off.

Driver’s Composure Credited With Preventing Worse Harm

Despite the damage, the driver managed to get clear of the immediate danger and drove to a nearby police station for help, later receiving hospital treatment. Authorities haven’t specified whether the passenger, the suspect’s wife, was injured, but emphasized that the driver’s quick decision to flee the scene likely prevented far more serious harm to both women.

Case Classified as Domestic Violence

Police are treating the case as a domestic violence incident, noting the suspect fled before officers arrived. His identity hasn’t been released publicly, and investigators are coordinating with surrounding agencies to locate him. Officials say they’ve also taken steps to protect the safety of both the driver and the passenger while the investigation continues.

Investigation Ongoing

Dashcam footage from the incident shows the force of the repeated impacts and the extent of damage to the vehicle. Police say the driver’s composure under extreme stress likely played a direct role in preventing more serious injury or worse. The investigation remains active, and officers are asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to locate the suspect and fully establish what led to the attack.
