On Saturday, Aug. 1, a 57-year-old UAW Local 1248 member, identified as Brasher, died after falling approximately 25 feet from a second-story loading bay at Stellantis’s Mopar National Parts Distribution Center in Center Line, Michigan. According to Center Line Director of Public Safety Paul Myszenski, Brasher was removing furniture and equipment from an office space undergoing renovation. He was wearing a fall-protection harness that was not clipped to a tether.
Michigan’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) confirmed the fall in a public posting and has opened a formal investigation.
Stellantis said it is cooperating with authorities and extended condolences to Brasher’s family, friends, and coworkers.
Brasher’s death is the third Stellantis-connected workplace fatality in the Detroit area since August 2024. Antonio Gaston, 53, died at the Toledo Assembly Complex, which builds Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers. Ronald Adams, 63, died in April 2025 during repair work at the Dundee Engine Plant.
UAW President Shawn Fain and Vice President Rich Boyer said the union will seek a full accounting from the company.
MIOSHA has recorded at least 24 workplace fatalities in Michigan so far this year, following 46 for all of 2025.
