Officer Barks Like A Dog To Coax Out Car Thieves

As strange as it sounds, this really happened. We’d never witnessed a police officer imitate a barking dog to convince suspects to give up, but that’s precisely what played out in University Place, Washington on August 18. The bodycam footage of the moment has since come to light.

The unusual trick apparently worked, persuading the car thieves that a K-9 was on scene. It’s a clever, if comical, example of officers using psychology rather than force to bring a tense standoff to a peaceful end.
