The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio is on the hunt for a man they’re calling a person of interest in a case where a woman was run over by a Kia Soul. That man, Darius Thomas, wasn’t named as the driver of the Kia, only that he was allegedly involved in what’s being called a “felonious assault.”

It was the night of January 29 when a woman on foot by the Salem Beverage in Harrison Township was hit by the 2013 Kia Soul shown in the photos. Authorities say it has Ohio tag KAP5082 as well as significant damage to the front end from hitting the woman. You can see some of that damage in the one image of the Kia, namely a buckled hood and cracked bumper cover.
Additional information about this incident was shared by Dayton Daily News. According to that report, investigators believe the unnamed woman got into an argument with her boyfriend before the Kia mowed her down. In other words, it wasn’t a premeditated crime but rather something done in the heat of the moment. Still, using a vehicle to take someone out just because you’re mad at them is beyond the pale.
The woman hit by the Kia, who is 29 years old, was found like a severed right ankle, among other injuries. That’s pretty gruesome and if true means the woman will have a long road to recovery ahead of her. We hope she’s able to get on with her life, although having her attacker brought to justice would likely help.
