Fleeing Teen Crashes, Engine Block Flies Into House

Guess what kind of car he was driving?

A teenager in Belchertown, Massachusetts is dead and a home is severely damaged after a high-speed police chase. Images of the brick house with two holes, one left by the fleeing car’s engine that ejected on impact, show just how violent of a collision it was.

Young race car driver killed in road rage incident.

According to Western Mass News, the chase started at about 8:45 pm on August 20 when a state trooper tried pulling over a 2011 Nissan Altima. The teenage driver decided to not comply, believing the vehicle and teenage driving skills were enough to not face any consequences. That teen was wrong.

As the driver sped along the road, the Nissan hit a patch of mulch, sending the Altima careening through the air. After hitting trees and light poles, the vehicle struck a parked Jeep Wrangler. That’s when the Nissan’s engine and other parts belched out and into the house, leaving two gaping holes. The driver was also ejected, later being found by authorities in the house’s backyard.

Investigators haven’t released the identity of the 19-year-old driver, but we’re sure the family is reeling at the moment. As for the family who live in the damaged house, they were put up in hotel by the Red Cross while beginning the long process of dealing with the home insurance company. Thankfully, nobody in the house was killed, which quite frankly is a miracle.

We keep trying to spread the message that running from the police is never a good idea. Unfortunately, people keep doing it and so often it ends badly, like in this case. Most people don’t have the skills to drive fast even on a closed track, let alone a public road where traffic, debris, even potholes can prove fatal for the person fleeing and innocent bystanders just going about their life.
