Father Ditches Kids In Stolen Getaway Car After Robbery

Sometimes we run across car-related crimes that just make us stop and realize how screwed up this world can be. This case of a father ditching his two young children in a stolen getaway car after robbing a house is just such a case. Seriously, this guy is a strong candidate for Father of the Year 2024.

8-year-old girl calls mom after a carjacker kidnaps her and her little sister.

As originally covered by the Miami Herald, the unnamed 22-year-old father took his 1- and 2-year-old kids along for a good old fashioned home robbery. A woman also came along, but we’re assuming she wasn’t his baby momma.

Leaving the two small children in the back of the stolen SUV these two supposed adults drove to the house, they went inside and started taking stuff. Then the woman who lives at the house pulled up, chased them off as they were loading her things in the vehicle, and a chase ensued.

One of the suspects decided to shoot at the woman chasing them and sure enough, that got her to stop. But she called police and they tracked the stolen SUV to a convenience store. We guess these two criminal geniuses got the munchies after a robbery, car chase, and shooting?

Like the good father he is, the guy left the kids unattended in the backseat of the stolen vehicle, along with guns and drugs. What could possibly go wrong?

When the police showed up, he hightailed it into the convenience store and tried running out the backdoor. We’re pretty sure everyone knows that dumb trick, because police were waiting for him.

They were also waiting for his accomplice, whom he probably didn’t warn about the cops outside, because she just walked out of the convenience store and toward the SUV, making it easy for police.

We really hope the kids have a good mom and she gets fully custody, because anyone who takes their children along to commit crimes probably shouldn’t have access to their kids.
