Teen Street Takeover Suspect Hits Two Cop Cars Using Stolen Dodge Charger

Estimated read time 2 min read

In the latest example of why we have zero respect for the street takeover crowd, a teenager in Georgia who allegedly participated in one led police on a chase, hitting two squad cars in the process. He was also behind the wheel of what reportedly is a stolen Dodge Charger.

Drivers exchange gunfire on Georgia interstate.

Police originally responded to the scene in Gwinnett County to break up the takeover, which was being held illegal in an intersection. As officers arrived they heard several gunshots followed by people wearing facemasks fleeing, reports WSB-TV.

Unlike some departments which seem content with scattering takeovers only to have them pop up elsewhere, police stuck around to see if they could identify the shooter.

That persistence paid off when officers located a group of armed suspects at a nearby gas station. When they descended, A Dodge Charger fled the scene, hitting a police cruiser on the way out.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why someone would be running in that situation, so officers gave chase. Eventually, the 19-year-old driver of the Mopar muscle car lost control, running into another cop car in front of a church. How ironic.

Two firearms were found in the Charger.

While police were able to collar the driver, they say a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old were able to get away. The fact they know the others’ ages makes us think they know who they are as well. Perhaps they’ll catch up with those two later.

An 18-year-old who was also in the car was caught and faces a charge for obstruction.

As for our wanna-be Vin Diesel, he got slapped with what seems like every charge possible, including aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, obstruction, theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of false imprisonment, possession of a tool during the commission of certain crimes, reckless driving, unsafe land change, speeding, failure to obey a traffic control device, and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Cities, counties, and states need to crack down more on street takeovers. They’re not innocent fun and increasingly are attracting other criminal activity, including violence.
