After chasing a suspect who sped down public roads with no regard for anyone’s safety, officers sometimes lose patience. That was apparently the case for a Georgia trooper who drove hard before executing a PIT that sent a fleeing Dodge Challenger airborne.
A decisive PIT can end a reckless pursuit in dramatic fashion. The spectacular conclusion reflected the trooper’s determination to stop a driver who’d shown complete disregard for public safety.
