2024 Dodge Charger EV Price Leaks And It’s A Whopper

We’re sure dozens of people are eagerly lining up to buy the 2024 Dodge Charger as the muscle car suddenly takes a left turn into mediocrity. Not only is the Hemi V8 dead and gone, taking with it the possibility of a real Scat Pack or Hellcat offering, the price has skyrocketed to ridiculous levels.

Watch a cop PIT a car so hard the passenger falls out.

A post on Allpar forums leaks what looks to be official pricing for the First Edition of the new EV Charger and people can’t believe their eyes.

One that’s an EV with leatherette seats and a three optional packages carries an MSRP of $68,570. After that is a “Scat Pack” with more optional equipment. But a price tag of $82,170 hardly seems appropriate considering.

Those prices put the Dodge Charger squarely in luxury car territory. Considering the blue collar image of the model, that seems like a weird strategy.

While some on the Allpar forum are trying to argue that with tax credits the pricing doesn’t seem that bad, not everyone is swallowing that line. After all, those credits don’t last forever and they certainly aren’t free, despite some people foolishly believing government funding doesn’t come from them.

But the prevailing attitude is the new prices are insane, because they are. Who in their right mind will shell that much out for a Charger?

Maybe you’re thinking getting one with the Hurricane inline-six will be more economical. Maybe, but we wonder by how much, all things considered. After all, other car model lines which have recently launched new production generations featuring smaller engines to comply with EPA regulations and fuel economy standards are more expensive than those with burbling V8s sold not that long ago.

In other words, you’re paying more for a weaker, more complex and possibly more prone to breakage vehicle. Sounds like a great deal, doesn’t it?
