A 26-year-old man caused absolute havoc on a Dallas highway recently, stabbing one person and hitting two others with their own cars. What started as a crash quickly escalated into a violent road rage rampage which left one person in critical condition.
Woman pulled out of her truck and beaten in a road rage incident.
According to police, Angel Zamora Moreno was arrested and slapped with ten criminal charges. He’s accused of causing a multi-vehicle crash the morning of August 6. After getting out of his car, Moreno reportedly started fighting another driver.
When a third driver tried to break up the fight, Moreno allegedly stabbed that person. As more people stopped, he was captured on cell phone video jumping on cars, kicking in the windshield of at least one.
Then he carjacked two people, hitting them with their vehicles. One of the victims was in a Texas Department of Transportation fleet truck. The other was a woman who stopped to render medical aid, likely because she’s a medical professional. After all, she was in red scrubs at the time.
A group of men tackled Moreno and wrestled him to the ground, holding him until police showed up. That might have saved countless lives or at least prevented many more injuries to innocent people.
While we don’t know the extent of the injuries of the man and woman hit by their own vehicles, we do know the man who was stabbed was in critical condition. We hope all three victims pull through and make a full recovery.
What’s also unclear is why Moreno went on the violent rampage. Was this just another case of someone letting road rage get the better of them? Does he have serious mental health issues? Do most people who get into violent road rage issues have serious mental health problems? We couldn’t say for sure, but we hope more details about this case come forth in the near future.
In the meantime, it’s wise to exercise when dealing with agitated people on public roads.
