McLaren Keeps Rearending Maybach SUV

Estimated read time 2 min read

A video of a McLaren repeatedly hitting the back of a Maybach GLS has people dismayed and asking questions. It’s a bizarre scene where we’re wondering just what exactly is happening since it’s not every day you see close to half a million worth of cars colliding repeatedly.

Watch a McLaren 720S run from police in Georgia.

The video, which was shared to the r/McLaren Subreddit, opens with what appears to be a McLaren 600LT already touching the Maybach’s rear bumper. A man is standing outside the supercar and allegedly is the driver.

As rain comes down and onlookers exclaim, the GLS driver pulls forward and the McLaren creeps forward, making contact again. The man outside the supercar tries pushing on the front to prevent this from happening, but to no effect.

Supposedly, the guy in the McLaren stepped out of the vehicle after he accidentally hit the SUV, keeping the engine running. And he left the keys inside. Plus, the doors locked. And he left the transmission in drive. How exactly he accomplished such a feat is anyone’s guess, but this is Pink Panther levels of buffoonery.

Unable to get inside the 600LT or stop the engine, the only thing the poor guy can do is watch as his very expensive ride keeps bumping the rear of another very expensive ride over and over.

For their part, the onlookers sure seem to be enjoying the show. They could run over and help the guy keep his McLaren from hitting the luxury SUV, but instead they’re content to keep filming and exclaiming every time it happens.

One lady holding an umbrella does come over and kind of helps, but it isn’t until the Maybach driver seems to understand what’s happening that the mayhem stops.

In the Subreddit there’s some debate over whether this is a genuine McLaren 600LT or if it’s been tuned. Some claim the supercar won’t creep when left in drive, but others say it does. Since we don’t own one we can’t say for sure and we seriously question if any of the Reddit people do either.

Check out the chaos for yourself.
