Watch Texas Cops Rescue A Man From His Burning Ford F-150

Dramatic bodycam footage shows the moment when officers from Lewisville Police Department in Texas arrive on the scene of a crash to find a man trapped in his burning Ford F-150. As the seconds tick by, they struggle to get the man free or at least stop the fire from reaching him, realizing the worst might soon come to pass.

In the video, you see officers run up to the Ford as the engine compartment, having sustained heavy damage in a crash, has become a raging inferno. The driver is unconscious as police work to wake him up and get him out of the vehicle which soon could become his coffin.

At the same time, another officer grabs a fire extinguisher and tries keeping the blaze from spreading into the F-150’s cab. It seems like a futile effort as the gasoline fire keeps growing, but he might have been what stood in the way of the crash victim and the flames.

The other officers are able to wake the driver up, who immediately starts crying and screaming. He seems disoriented and since his legs are pinned under the dash, which was pushed into him in the wreckage, he’s probably in plenty of pain.

While police can’t get the man free, they are able to hold off the inferno just long enough for firefighters to show up and extinguish it. They then extracted the driver from the truck and he was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and burns.

So many times in the news there are reports of the misdeeds of police. While we know there are bad cops, and that sometimes good cops mess up in the heat of the moment, it’s great to highlight when officers act heroically, putting themselves in danger to help others in a time of great need.

Just be warned, the video is intense and probably shouldn’t be shared with younger audiences or people who are sensitive to this sort of thing. But it offers a unique look into the heroics of these officers in a panic situation.
