Sometimes you just plain get lucky, like the front passenger of this Tesla which was impaled by a fence pole in a horrific rollover crash. This is one of those times when you thank whatever higher power you believe in, buy a lottery ticket, and just sit for a moment appreciating you’re still drawing breath.
Arkansas trooper breaks a leg.
According to OnScene TV, which provided video footage of the crash aftermath, four people were traveling in the Tesla on the Southbound 215 Freeway in San Bernardino, California when it collided with two other vehicles.
We imagine the crash happened at high speeds, because the EV rolled multiple times, going off the road. In the process, the portly little car flattened a fence. But one of the metal poles bent just at the right angle, impaling the vehicle through its windshield.
What are the chances that would even happen? Rollover accidents are crazy enough, but having something like that come through the windshield completely and into the passenger compartment is just insane.
The pole missed the Tesla’s front passenger by inches. You can see the people who were dazed and confused at the scene had some dried blood on them, perhaps from flying glass. None of them look too with it and who could blame them?
One of the other cars is a Mazda of some sort. We can tell that from the still-visible front badge even though the rest of the front end is just demolished. A white Toyota Camry with minimal driver-side frontend damage and a scuff on the driver’s door seemed to have also been involved in the wreck, although it escaped the worst of it.
Reportedly, the Toyota and Mazda occupants had just left a concert. It just goes to show even when you’re out having a good time you have to drive carefully and stay aware of everything around you.
