It’s amazing what a difference crossing a state line makes when it comes to police chases. This woman in a Chevy Malibu found that out the hard way after leading Alabama troopers on a high-speed chase, then crossing into Florida. She probably didn’t realize Florida Highway Patrol doesn’t play games, but we guarantee she gets that now.
Watch Georgia troopers take down a Tennessee police car.
After all, it took just a few minutes for Florida troopers to catch up and wreck her sedan in a beautiful PIT maneuver. Talk about having life come at you fast as the consequences of your actions come screaming into the picture.
We don’t cover Alabama troopers chasing people and now we’re thinking we know why. After all, when FHP troopers catch up with the speeding Malibu, it only takes them a few minutes to stop her flight.
You can see in the dashcam footage she tries losing them by swerving around some, but this isn’t anything beyond the standard chase stuff we and especially law enforcement see all the time. And yet Alabama troopers couldn’t stop her, probably thanks to pursuit policies.
Meanwhile, Florida troopers have actually had their pursuit policies relaxed some. They don’t quite have the discretion Arkansas troopers enjoy, but they are one of the more aggressive agencies out there. This is why fleeing from Alabama to the Sunshine State isn’t a smart move.
After the Malibu is totaled in the crash, we learn more about the suspect and why she was running from police as she sits in the back of a cruiser. She seems pretty unfazed by what she just did, even laughing about how much “fun” running from troopers was, either because she’s got some serious problems or she’s high on drugs and has some serious problems.
She even brags about the police on scene “all for me.” This is narcissism on steroids. We’re sure the judge will be super impressed by the footage.
