Stolen Government Tow Truck Plows Through Traffic

There’s an old joke about where an 800-pound gorilla sits, the answer being wherever it pleases, and a stolen Maryland Department of Transportation tow truck behaved much the same way. Weighing far more than the cars around it, the heavy machine threw its bulk around with little regard for anyone else.

In the wrong hands, a vehicle that massive becomes a serious hazard to everyone sharing the road. The theft turned a piece of public equipment into a rolling wrecking ball.
